The Crosstown rivalry series is here! The Cubs! The Sox! Two first place teams. The Cubs come into the series, losers of three straight, and 45-28 overall, 3.5 games in the National League Central. The Sox come in, 41-31, winners of three straight, and 4.5 games up in the AL Central.
Friday afternoon, will feature John Danks for the White Sox, who is 4-4 on the year with a 2.90. The lefthander has been off and on this season, and has never faced the Cubs in his career. For the Cubs, they will throw another lefthander, Ted Lilly, who is 7-5, with a 4.76 era. Lilly struggled with his command in his last start, but has had some nice outings lately.
Saturday, another afternoon game, will feature Jose Contreras, 6-5, 3.24 for the Sox, against Jason Marquis, 5-3, 4.24 for the Cubs.
Sunday, the last of the three game set at Wrigley, will feature Javier Vazquez 7-5 with a 4.13 era, against Cubs righthander, Ryan Dempster, 8-2 with a 2.76.
It should be a FUN weekend the ole friendly confines of Wrigley!
