Carlos Zambrano is looking to continue his quest for the Cy Young he failed to get after his guarantee last season. So far, he is well on his way. 8-1 with a 2.51 era, striking out 57 and walking 28 for the first place Chicago Cubs. He will face a promising righthander who has struggled the first two months of this season. Derrick Lowe comes in with a 3-5 record, and a 4.17 era.
Zambrano is 2-2 lifetime against the Dodgers, while Lowe is 1-1 career against Cubs.
In Lowe’s last start against the Cubs, he went 7 innings, allowing four hits, no runs, while walking 2 and striking out 5, but receiving a no decision in a Dodger loss.
Soriano has only faced Lowe three times in his career, getting one hit, and striking out once.
Good luck to Alfonso Soriano and the first place Chicago Cubs this afternoon!
